Thanks for visiting our website. We're glad you found us. I'm Roger Calhoon, also known as "Dr. Maze." My wife, Carol, and I have been practicing sustainable farming methods in a fertile valley at the intersection of the cities of Redmond, Woodinville and Kirkland, Washington for more than a decade. We're part of a group called The South 47 Farm, which is working to protect farmland and promote sustainable farming in the Sammamish Valley of Washington State. We started Dr. Maze's Farm as our own family farm in 2010.
We're best known for our pumpkin patch and the large maze we carve out each fall in a cornfield at one corner of our farm. It has become a favorite destination for local families, who make an annual pilgrimmage to the farm to conquer the maze and pick pumpkins for Halloween.
But we're a working farm and very serious about growing seasonal crops. We specialize in heirloom varieties of pumpkins and squash. And, some of our fields are filled with fragrant culinary herbs that we use to hand craft truly unique specialty salts, gourmet teas, hand balms, lotions and other botanical and aromatic products we sell online and in our farm-fresh store.
We also share space with several other farmers, such as the Brian Scheehser, executive chef at theTrellis Restaurantin Kirkland. Brian grows heirloom apples, fruits and vegetables here, for his award-winning dining creations. Another of our farmers specializes in some of the most colorful, fragrant, long-lasting flowers grown anywhere in the state.
So come visit us to relax, recharge and reconnect with nature. You can spend some quality time with family and friends. Check out our farm schedule, we'd love to see you down on the farm. We'll hitch up the wagon, give you a hayride and break out the kettle corn.
